Word embeddings for test-to‑code links at SST 2019

At the 10th International Workshop on Software and Systems Traceability (SST 2019, co-located with ICSE 2019) in Montréal, Canada, we presented “Source Code Level Word Embeddings in Aiding Semantic Test-to-Code Traceability” (Csuvik, Kicsi and Vidács).

Test-to-code links can be recovered with information retrieval techniques that read the natural language in source code, with Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) as the mainstream approach. We evaluated both LSI and word embeddings for class-level test-to-code traceability on four open-source systems, using naming conventions as the reference.
